Rivertown 05:31
Going down to Big River I've got a secret hidden there A dollar ten - will get you a dozen And an honest man should always have twelve good friends - that he can count on Two cats fighting over one catfish One dog looking at his empty dog dish And I hear - something buzzing Is it the beer? - or my head humming some old song - that I don't remember Chorus I'm going down, down , down to Rivertown All my friends will be there - I'll buy them all a round The nights will be longer - the town will be smaller the days will be stronger - whatever you lost will be found - in Rivertown Old Man River 's not getting any younger His water is running grey It's a long, long way from here to nowhere But if we start today - we'll be closer than we were - the day before Chorus Gonna jump right in Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn - they're going to ride again A southwest wind brings me the brewery A nort'easter rain or snow It's a small dot - on a big map It's a long walk - or a short nap on the couch - in the afternoon Chorus

Scratch Shot 03:51
Scratch Shot - by Mike Caucutt Two ball combination - bank it in the side Look out boy for the white ball - she's going for a ride Shake your head - whiskey breath Don't play dumb - don't play dead Close your eyes and shoot if you can't decide Scratch shot - broken heart Long black cloud - it's a following me Scratch shot - she loves me not bad luck's gotta stop - following me. Young boy from the farm - had to run away City light kept calling - to come on down and stay Went back to the farm - never gonna leave 'cause the city is full of beggars and thieves and they don't give a damn about me Scratch shot - broken heart Long black cloud - it's a following me Scratch shot - she loves me not bad luck's gotta stop - following me. Eight ball rolling over - girl, better stay away I'm' no good for you - Devil's got my pay don't you understand - I'm the bad luck man and the Devil don't like it if he don't get his way. Scratch shot - broken heart Long black cloud - it's a following me Scratch shot - she loves me not bad luck's gotta stop - following me.

Lucinda 04:11
Young man, old man, rich or poor all want to be with Lucinda but no man has caught her yet Lucinda slips through every net and when she smiles the clouds are much whiter the world's a little lighter the sunshine is brighter - for Lucinda She's got the cool scene down Lucinda she moves it all around a comedy of rain - a tragedy of sun She'll do that dead dance all night long do that dead dance all night long. Say good-bye to the girl next door say hello to Lucinda The Groovy Queen of In-between Lucinda flies into your dreams and when she dances her eyes are much greener the air's a little cleaner the music goes between her - oh Lucinda This broken world could use some more magic from Lucinda From sunrise to sunset Lucinda knows the secret and when she sings the sky is much bluer your problem's are fewer the wind listens to her mmm - Lucinda

Empty bottles of beer and ashes on the floor I'm sitting here just staring at the door The only thing you left me is this bottle of wine but its the only thing I need, the only thing I've ever called mine Chorus Give me my poison, give me my pain Give it to me please sir one more time then give it to me again Sitting on this barstool, I look like my old man Another drunken fool, who I never did understand Well, we never got along, quite like we should and when he died, I realized, we never ever would Chorus Water in my eyes, whiskey in my veins I swear this is the last time but you know I'm lying again I'm too drunk to drive, too drunk to find the door I'm blind and deaf and stupid, is it too late for one more? Chorus One more for the road, two more at last call Three-hundred fifty thousand left standing on the wall Silently they wait, it's out of my control So take one down, pass it around, Set'em Joe.,drown my soul Chorus

Been up and down the broken road I've gone around the bend I've stumbled in the alleys and ran into some dead-ends been lost and crazy - a two track mind going in circles - wasting my time would you persuade me to read between the lines? The piper has been paid in full the Devil's on the run the doctor says I'm better now the time clock says I'm done I'm checking out - turn in my key Little boy blue is through with me I always knew that he was going to leave It's just around the corner over a few more hills The final stretch is just ahead then no more obstacles on the mountain top - this rough rider is showing signs of wear and tear but I don't care - it's all downhill from there It's all downhill from there down, down, down Gonna ride downhill from there -Yeah, yea, yeah On easy street - my ends will meet I'll have it made - my problems will fade it's all downhill from there - yeah all downhill from there.

Look at me - look at my arms I have plowed and planted and gathered into barns And ain't I a woman? I can work and sweat, as much as any man and bear his burdens as well And ain't I a woman? I have born the children and seen them die in the street And when I cried out with my mothers grief none but Jesus heard me none but Jesus heard me And ain't I a woman? Look at me - look at my eyes I have watched and learned and cried myself to sleep and ain't I a woman? I can stand tall - and strong as any tree and bend my branches with the wind - and ain't I a woman? I have stood upon the world and watched it slowly turn And when she cries out with all her pain I will comfort and heal And ain't I a woman? Look at me - look at my heart I have loved and lost and trusted my soul And ain't I a woman? I can bleed and die - like every living thing still my faith will continue And ain't I a woman? I have let my love light shine and it has turned back the dark And when the blackness surrounds me My spirit will not fail And ain't I a woman? -Ain't I a woman?

Look inside my pocket - see the ground below moving faster with every step I take Pick a road and walk it - going too damn slow I'm so bored - I can't stay awake Step inside my office - where the hell you been? haven't started - I'm already late Don't get on my bad list - won't see you again Don't turn into something that I hate It's about time - it's about speed it's about yours and mine and everything I don't need It's about distance - it's all velocity time is rushing right by me Throw away your watches - they are obsolete start thinking more than just a day Tell me what the catch is - I just can't compete when no-one listens to what I have to say It's about time - it's about speed it's about yours and mine and everything I don't need It's about distance - it's all velocity time is rushing right by me Gonna throw the heat - gonna jump the gun anticipate your next thirty moves Don't come down my street - don't block my sun don't come in my house with dirty shoes It's about time - it's about speed it's about yours and mine and everything I don't need It's about distance - it's all velocity time is rushing right by me

All of my possessions, they just weigh me down and all of my confessions are just lies that I tell I'm not bad, I'm not good, don't do things I know I should maybe that's just as well Chorus I ain't no saint , I ain't no bum, I'm not a star Don't want to cause you any grief anymore Push me down, pick me up, turn the other cheek You got me chasing my own tail Round and around and around and around and around I go You gotta stop sending me junk mail Chorus Watch it rain, watch it fall, big hole in the sky Don't know how much longer we'll be here Where's the devil where is God, where the hell are we? Fighting it out somewhere Chorus I ain't no saint, ain't no bum, can't save the world I 'm not smart, but I'm not dumb, it's over girl

Well prices going up, and never coming down and the bank man he came by yesterday Said he's given me, every break he could and he's sorry that it has to be this way So I'm making up my mind, as I look at the bills that came in the morning mail And I ran out of time, and money long ago and so, this farm's ,for sale Chorus Farm for sale, yessir this farm's for sale Well its left me like, a rusty bent nail, hey mister, this farms for sale Oh I have tried, everything I could to keep this farm of mine But Lord don't you know, I hate to say it looks like I've wasted my time Well' I've worked this land, or maybe its worked me is it really my fault I failed and I don't understand how it ever got this way, but now, this farm's for sale Chorus Oh, I'll never see another day, of tractor, combine, or plough but I'll never live, any other way, because I don't know how So I'm leaving this behind like a winter sunset that make everything turn cold and if I've wasted your time, 'm sorry about that, but mister, this farm is sold yeah mister, this farm is sold, yeah mister, my farm is sold

Stupid City 05:37
We got Mother Nature on our back door - but we need another road - so she can't stay there no more Urban development - is the city's precedent - so concrete up the marsh and build another store CHORUS I live in a stupid city It's on the river and it's very pretty We got the largest six pack in both hemispheres and 20,000 students that drink a lot of beers they pay a lot of rent here - they get no respect here and when they graduate - they're all going to leave here. CHORUS We got a civic center - we got ourselves a mayor Got a big room in the center - that's named after the mayor Got a lot of big rich men - they are the mayor's best friends they all want to stick around, hang around, forever! I live in a stupid city It's on the river and it's very pretty if you want mediocrity, this is where you have to be Stupid City We got geeks and freaks, sorority sisters and frat brothers they all go downtown to look at each other play that little love game - they don't know my real name I think they're all losers too cheap to pay a cover! I live in a stupid city It's on the river and it's very pretty If you want conformity, this is where you have to be - Stupid City We got the 10 Commandments - sitting in the park With two strong fences to protect them from the dark but who are the real fools - there's more than just 10 rules Got bigger problems than some words on a rock We got cops whose duty is to protect and to serve so they gassed the kids in April because we had the nerve to go and have a good time and stay out way past bar time Come on and get arrested for standing on the curb.... I live in a stupid city It's on the river and it's very pretty If you want conformity, this is where you have to be - Stupid City Used to name the football fields - after those who served a very worthy honor and very well deserved Then a college coach came - man he won a lot of games Didn't think a touchdown was like dying in a war
