This river rises faster than a liar from the stand

Everyone has their own point of view – Kickapoo

The Corps of Engineers – tried for many years
To build a dam to control the Kickapoo
They said wait and see – you’ll have water front property
It’ll be a supersonic economic boom
149 farms were taken – a community was shaken
And they never did what they said they were going to do

Taking family farms for progress and 19 million dollars
and the dream of a lake did not come true – Kickapoo

Now 100 year floods are coming twice year
And you never ever hear from the Corps of Engineers
The river still goes up, towns get flooded out
Did we burn too much oil for too many years?
Now the river is reserved for plants and friends and birds
And part to the Ho Chunk First nation
It is what it is – back to the way it was
But look out for those thunder cloud formations
